A tizón is a burning ember, the piece of wood still glowing after the fire dies down. It fits a powder that keeps its heat after the first bite. The jar says it twice: ¡Tizón! across the top, Lumbre, fire, underneath.
On the label you will also see the word Sazón, seasoning. If you searched for Tizon and found a surname or a place, this is the other one: the red powder in the dark jar with the lime and the chile on the front.
Lumbre Fuego is our chile-lime powder, sold in a 5.25 oz shaker jar. It is made for the snacks of a Mexican-American childhood: mango with chile, cucumbers with lime, corn in a cup, popcorn at the movies.
Lumbre carne seca is thin-cut dried beef in the northern Mexican style, made by Duran Snacks in Fort Worth, Texas, under USDA inspection, and dusted with the same powder. It comes in a 2 oz resealable pouch.
A Dill Pickle version of the powder is part of the range too. It is sold out right now and will be back in the shop when it is in stock again.
If your jar from a couple of years ago looked different, you are not imagining it. The current label carries the words "new look, same taste": the jar changed, the powder did not.
